TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOUR INVESTMENT STRATEGY MUST BE SIMPLE
There is THIS powerful advice that allowed me to make some serious profit, especially recently. It’s based on the popular saying in crypto:
• "When in doubt, zoom out.”
Let's unpack SIX stages of zooming out to get the perfect perspective.
INTRO
Zooming out is about focusing on the bigger picture when the information you have makes you doubtful about the decision you need to make.
There are 6 stages/elements of zooming out that I recognize:
• technical analysis
• fundamental analysis
• trend overview
• sentiment overview
• narratives analysis
• historical context
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
• very specific
• project oriented
• very short-term relevant
IMO, this one is reserved for experienced traders.
It’s based on correctly interpreting chart patterns that require experience and knowledge.
I don't focus too much on TA

FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS
• specific
• project oriented
• short-mid-term relevant
In this stage, we look for answers about the potential of the project. You're searching for rug pull red flags, whitepaper roadmap, etc.
Everyone has their own style of making good fundamental analyses.
TREND ANALYSIS
• general
• projects oriented
• mid-term relevant
Is the asset you're buying part of a larger trend?
For instance Gaming, gaming infrastructure, metaverse, AI, zk?
Is the trend overhyped or underhyped?
SENTIMENT ANALYSIS
• general
• market-oriented
• mid-term relevant
If you're still unsure after trend analysis, it's time to look at sentiment analysis.
Is the overall sentiment bullish or bearish?
Checking indicators like the fear and greed index can get a sense of this.
Market narratives analysis
• general
• market-oriented
• long term relevant
What's the long-term narrative for the industry? Is it optimistic or pessimistic? What is the macroeconomic situation?
For example, are regulations going to crash the crypto market, or will the tech prevail and regulations adjust?
HISTORICAL CONTEXT
And I mean broad historical context, not just comparing historical charts from 3 years ago.
Look at other industries in similar stages of development. Were there similar narratives or regulatory risks?
Try to find analogies or correlations.
In my last newsletter I dropped a massive article on historical context analysis of the blockchain industry comparing it to music industries that needed to deal with disruptive technology in the late ‘90: the Internet.
Make sure you read it!
